Praise for Finding Om:

  • “In Finding Om, Rashmi Bismark manages to distill down the most important teaching of many traditions into a simple practice that even a child can understand and apply. The conversation between Anu and Appuppa is not unlike a guru-disciple dialogue of the Upanishads. A precious book!” — Kavitha Chinnaiyan, MD, author of Shakti Rising (2017), The Heart of Wellness (2018), and Glorious Alchemy (2019)
  • “This beautiful and wise book will bring wonder, curiosity, and peace to the hearts of children everywhere.” — Tara Brach, Ph.D., psychologist, world reknown teacher of meditation, and bestselling author of Radical Acceptance (2003), True Refuge (2012), and Radical Compassion (2019)
  • “Finding Om is a beautiful way to explain the power of Om as a mantra and its connection to ourselves and the Universe. This book will surely help children learn to meditate and see the peace and wonder this practice can inspire.” — Susan Verde, #1 New York Times Bestselling author of children’s books, including I Am Human (2018) and I Am Love (2019)
  • “Finding Om is a glorious, charming, must-have in every child's library. In an increasingly frenetic world, it's never been more important to teach our children peace. Such a powerful and necessary book to guide our children how to connect to themselves and the world around us.” — Sheetal Sheth, award-winning actress, advocate, and author of Always Anjali (2018)

Finding Om - The Curriculum Guide

Dr. Rashmi partnered with educational consultant, Archaa Srivastav, to create the Finding Om Curriculum Guide. This freely downloadable resource includes:
  • Background information about meditation
  • Guided practices that can be tailored to a child's needs like: centering meditation, listening to sounds, body scan, mindful walking, and more
  • Reflection activities
  • An exploration of cultural appreciation vs. appropriation of OM
  • Discussion questions to further explore themes in the book
Not only can this be a wonderful resource to engage with for families at home or for teachers in school. The Finding Om Curriculum Guide is a thoughtful addition to kids yoga curriculums, too. YogiBeans refers to this guide in their yoga teacher trainings to tie in appreciation for South Asian roots of yoga.  Download your FREE copy, at Mango and Marigold Press here.
