Ayurveda Foundations with Dr. Siri Chand Khalsa, MD
In 2021, Dr. Rashmi joined Ayurveda Foundations for Clinicians - Dr. Siri Chand Khalsa, MD's innovative, longitudinal self-care program for physicians - as its lead mindfulness educator.
Dr. Khalsa is a physician board certified in Internal Medicine, Integrative Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine, and Hospice/Palliative Medicine who deepened her healing studies by completing a two-year full-time Ayurvedic training program with Dr. Vasant Lad in Abluquerque and India, as well as studying Reiki, Yoga, and Culinary Medicine. She has served as an integrative medicine PCP, instructor with University of Arizona's Fellowship in Integrative Medicine for physicians, and consultant for medical practices. One of her current passions is supporting physicians who want to expand their personal and embodied understandings of healing through an experiential course integrating Ayurveda, yoga, mindfulness, and plant-based nutrition.
Dr. Rashmi has created mindfulness curriculum to complement Dr. Khalsa's enriching Ayurveda Foundations program by bridging Yoga and Tantrik philosophies from Hindu and Buddhist traditions with psychology and neuroscience. Mindful awareness, the yoga of skillful action, and wholesome nourishment of sensory experience are central to daily lifestyle practices in Ayurveda. They awaken connections to our conscious presence and enliven inner agency to make healthful choices, as we care for ourselves and each other.
